Sosatie Rolls (Braai Broodjie

Description

A popular variation of the traditional sosatie, served in a hot dog roll. It's a quick and easy way to enjoy the classic sweet and sour curried meat. Excellent for a braai or quick lunch.

Ingredients

  • 500g Pre-made sosaties (search recipes for sosatie meat marinade)
  • 6-8 Hot dog rolls
  • Butter or margarine
  • Lettuce leaves (optional)
  • Mrs. Balls Chutney (optional, for extra flavour)
  • Onions, finely sliced (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the sosaties on a braai (BBQ), griddle pan, or in a frying pan until the meat is cooked through and lightly charred. Ensure any onions and apricots on the skewers are also tender and caramelised.
  2. While the sosaties are cooking, lightly butter the inside of the hot dog rolls. You can quickly toast these on the braai grid or in a pan if desired.
  3. Once the sosaties are cooked, carefully remove the meat, onions, and apricots from the skewers.
  4. Place a few lettuce leaves in each roll (if using).
  5. Fill each hot dog roll generously with the sosatie meat, onions, and apricots.
  6. If desired, add a dollop of Mrs. Balls Chutney and some fresh sliced onion.
  7. Serve immediately.
